Hi I am female with severe upper groin pain. In fact, while I am walking the pain hurts so bad I have to stop and cannot move my leg until the pain subsides. I am not sure if it is a hernia or something else so looking for what kind of doctor i need to see?

Hi,
You have not mentioned your age.
If you are elderly then there might be having possibility of prolapse disc problem.
Due to pinched nerve pressure you might get this type of problem.
Go for x-ray lumbo-sacral region.
After report consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Physiotherapy, short way diathermy or lumbar traction will be helpful.
Ok and take care.
