What Causes Twitching In The Eyelids?

Hi, my wife whacked the back of her head one week ago on the table. She s noticed some dizziness and dull feelings of pressure (and minor pain), but just yesterday her eyelids started twitching when she closes her eyes. Does that sound pretty serious? Thanks.

Hello,

The twitching of eyelids may not be related to the head injury and could have occurred around the same time. It is called as fasciculations and can occur even in healthy individuals. Following a head injury of she develops giddiness, nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, convulsions or weakness in any body part then she needs to consult a physician. Fasciculations do not need to be treated and usually disappear once it is ignored.
