I feel very tired. My thyroid haemoglobin, Vitamin D levels, Hb levels are normal. However, my ESR has increased from 34 in July to 40 this month. Please advise what is to be done. I feel terribly tired at times & cannot even get up from chair after sitting. I am a married female aged 37 years
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood your concern. ESR is a non-specific test and does not point to one specific diagnosis. It can be raised in infections, cancers and certain autoimmune diseases. An ESR reading of 40 is definitely high and needs to be investigated further. Your symptoms of associated weakness point to some chronic infection. Please get properly examined by a general physician. You may need other hormone profiles also along with complete blood count, urinalysis, sonogram of the abdomen and pelvis and a chest X-ray. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
