What Causes Tiny Rashes Like Sore Inside Mouth Despite Being HIV Positive?

Hello,I have had tiny little sore like almost a rash of some sort on the inside of my cheeks and close to mouth opening. Feels like a lot of canker sores but I don t believe they are. First I thought because of eating strawberries but that usually only lasts a day or so, this has been over 3 days. Im a 41yo male HIV+ pretty healthy on meds and viral load undetectable.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of an infection. For This reason, I recommend consulting with the infection disorder specialist for a physical exam and some tests: A throat swab for strep or fungal infection, some blood lab tests, etc. Being HIV+ makes you more susceptible to infections.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
