What Causes Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Face And Hands?

I am sitting at work and my face started feeling warm and tingling. I started feeling numbness in my face, hands, and feet. My left side only. I don t feel light headed or disorientated. I don t have blurry vision or headache. But it seem temporary- lasted about 10 minutes. Should I be concerned? I am 66 and in good shape.

Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

Your symptoms could be related to a TIA (transient ischemic attack) or a partial seizure.

For this reason, I would recommend going to the ER for a careful physical exam and some tests:

-a brain CT scan
-a resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound
-a Doppler ultrasound of the carotid arteries
- blood electrolytes
- fasting glucose.

An EEG may be needed, if suspicions of seizures are raised.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes, Dr. Aida
