What Causes Tightness In The Neck And Numbness In The Fingers?

i am a 25 year old male with a good health history. I am a pro golfer. A few weeks ago, I began to experience back of the neck muscles tightening, fatigue, slight tingling and numbness in fingers and legs. And a slight bit of anxiousness. These symptoms began after my initial chiropractic visit a few weeks ago. I also use marijuana occasionally. My weight has gone down about 3 pounds during this time. I do work outside and consistently workout. I noticed the symptoms exaggerated when I use alcohol or marijuana.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Tingling and numbness in the fingers and toes, with a history of manipulation of the neck, may indicate a bulging or ruptured disk where the contents of the disk may be pressing on the nerve roots that supply these areas of the body.

This would most likely occur in the fingers and not the toes though, so there may be another cause of this problem. This is referred to as a neuropathy and may be caused by issues such as diabetes and a vitamin B12 deficiency, so these issues need to be excluded.

Alcohol use can result in the vitamin B12 deficiency and the marijuana use can cause decreased sensation in the areas which are supplied by small nerves (such as the hands and feet).
