What Causes Throat Discomfort?

i've had a feeling in my throat for 5 days like something that was there, all the time it feels like it's trying to come up yet when i cough nothing happens, and whatever it is cannot be swallowed either as i've tried that. This morning i've woken up with a feeling that either my tonsils have swollen or my uvula has dropped, i'm not sure i'm just in alot of discomfort - Olivia

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The discomfort in the throat can be because of the pharyngitis or peritonsillar abscess. Nothing to be panic, consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin (if you are not allergic). Do saline gargling.
I hope I have answered your query, take care.
