What Causes The Feeling The Fluttering In The Chest?

i keep getting a fluttering feeling in my chest and it lasts for a good part of the day. i also get lightheaded and dizzy sometimes with this. i've been told it could possibly be anxiety, but it happens all the time. i can be doing housework, watching tv, talking ot someone or just doing nothing at all...should i be really worried?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, you should definitely rule out arrhythmia (rhythm disturbances in heart) first because this can cause similar symptoms and if not treated promptly, this arrhythmia can be life threatening.
So consult doctor and get done ecg, 2d echo and Holter monitoring (24 hours continuous recording of ecg).
If all these are normal then no need to worry for arrhythmia.
Stress and anxiety can also cause similar symptoms. So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on it's solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Don't worry, you will be alright. But first rule out arrhythmia.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks
