Hello, I am 57 post menopausal with Rheumatoid arthritis. Recently I have had pain in my left breast. It only last a second or two for a few days and then goes away for a few weeks - a month. The pain doesn t always feel the same or be in the exact same place. Mostly it is at the edge of my breast area. I am small breasted and feel no lumps. I saw my RA DR this week for a check up and he did a full blood work up and everything is normal including my CRP at.24. He also said my glands feel normal under my arms, neck, etc.. I have an apt with my Internal medicine Dr in 1.5 weeks. I have had regular mammograms & clinical breast exams for years. How scared should I be?
Hello there, thanks for the query. Your query tells me that you are aware of self breast examination and are able to do it properly. Two things here are reassuring. Firstly, you didn't find any lumps or nipple discharge or changed skin appearance, redness or any tender area in your breast area and your physician having examined you for the same. Secondly, your regular mammogram which is normal. As of now there s nothing that is concerning. Keep doing your breast examination regularly and be mindful about signs and symptoms of breast disease. Your regular screening will be beneficial too. Good luck.
