What Causes Swollen Gland On The Neck With Fatigue And Ear Pain?

I have a swollen gland on the right side of my neck. I had this before and took antibiotics to get of it. I have the start of it again and I feel fatigue and my ear hurts. could it be an ear infection? Don t know why I had it the last time I had no bad test and ears looked fine.

Hi dear ,

The symptoms you mention in query are probably due to tonsillitis . This condition can be caused by a variety of common viruses and bacteria and is contagious. Pain in the ear is probably due to ear infection , which travel through eustachian tube to ear . It occur when infection of upper respiratory track left untreated . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order certain test and prescribe antibiotic course for at least 10 days . In sever infection doctor can remove tonsils , also known as tonsillectomy . Do betadine gargles , try to keep your ear dry and take proper rest ..

Hope your concern has been resolved.
