What Causes Swollen Arms, Chills And Decreased Appetite In An Alzheimer S Patient?

My 84 year old father, recently diagnosed with Alzheimer s now in hospital, 7 hemoglobin, blood in stool,extended stomach and now today both arms swollen, should we request they test his kidneys? He is always cold, sleeps a lot , skin itches, loss of appetite - he has lost a lot of weight.
