What Causes Swelling Of Ear Following An Infection?
i recently was treated for sinusitis and an ear infection with fluid behind my right ear. I was given a round of Amoxycillin and Augmentin and neither helped. I have just finished my last day of a Z-Pack and still have a tender knot that comes up after eating. Also, when I first wake up in the morning, the back of my ear is swollen...any suggestions.
It is the condition of very much concern & should not be neglected. To diagnose such types of conditions correctly it is important to have a look at your lesion so that perfect visual impression can be made & diagnosis can be given. As I am unable to visualise it the exact comment about it can not be given. But Considering the symptoms & the course of the antibiotics you have it is must that you should consult a qualified surgeon who after looking at the swelling & palpating it can give the exact diagnosis. You may need a minor surgical procedure for it too. As there are the chances such of infections in the area of face & ear to spread to meningies ( coverings of the brain) & brain causing serious complications such as meningitis & encephalitis due & utmost care should be taken to avoid the further consequences.
