What Causes Swelling And Numbness On The Left Side Of The Face?
My husband has facial swelling on the left side. I had him stick his tongue up down and to both sides to make sure he wasn't having a stroke. He says it feels numb and tingly. I say take a benedryl to bring down the swelling of his lower left cheek. He said no because he has had two drinks while watching football. What to do?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain swelling on left side of face along with numbing sensation can be due to either allergic reaction that can be to any food or medicine while it can also be due to any deeply decayed tooth causing swelling and numbness due to compression bover the nerve fibres..
So I would suggest you to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like blood test and x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now avoid taking any medications and do cool compresses over the swelling.
Hope this helps..
Regards..
