What Causes Swelling And Numbness In Toes?

I returned home last night from a week long business trip that involved long hours and I drank 4 nights during and after dinner. (Not my norm).
When I got home last night I saw my feet and was horrified!! Very swollen and numb toes and most of both feet. I feel the "pressure" in my toes but not much pain. Could this be from alcohol and is it necessary to see my Dr?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physcian i completely understand your health concerns.
what is ur age and sex?for how long u are suffering from it? any other associated problem? like diabetes or hypertension? any history of TB in past or exposure to TB? are u having fever? is there any liver or kidney problem? have u underwent any surgery?
Swollen feet need to be investigated , if i am your attending physician i will definitely look for your heart, liver and kidneys.
i will get your ECG ECHO LFTs RFTs along with FBC and chest XRay.. In the light if these tests along with relevant physical examination i will be able to diagnose
you should meet your doctor so that u can be examined and investigated properly.
meanwhile stay calm and dont use excessive salt and continue with your medications if u are using any.
As far as alcohol intake and feet swelling is concerned ,i dont think there is any direct association. Sometimes feet do swell up after prolonged standing but again it need to be examined by a doctor.
get well soon
Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask
Regards
Dr Saad Sultan
