What Causes Sudden Loss Of Hearing Along With Ear Pain?

I was diagnosed with bronchitis 3 days ago . I am on prednisone and an inhaler. Yesterday I have hearing loss in one ear and it was painful when the hearing loss occurred. ringing like when I get off a plane . He checked my ears and all was fine 3days ago. Will my hearing come back? Thank you

Hi,

Bronchitis is likely to be associated with throat and sinus problem in such a condition, blockage, inflammation or infection of eustachian tube (tube connecting ear, nose and throat). This tube controls air pressure on ear drum and thus is responsible for hearing capacity. Your hearing loss is likely to be due to blockage of eustachian tube. It is reversible with early diagnosis and needful treatment. Please consult an ENT specialist. Home care of inhaling steam and over the counter anti-inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen.
