My mother had sudden bleeding in her urine for 5 hours then it stopped the next day again but dark red color. She is 77 years old.She had no pain at all.She had Ultra Sound and it showed nothing. The doctor gave her antibiotics and several more tests to do but I am anxious to know the cause.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows: 1. Bleeding could be due to renal cause, post renal or prerenal cause. 2. At this age, tumors of renal system from kidney to bladder needs to be evaluated. 3. Repeat ultrasound and cystoscope is required. 4. Hemoglobin needs to be checked at avoid risk of cardiac failure due to anemia. 5. Urine examination for hematuria or hemoglobinuria needs evaluation. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
