What Causes String Like Tissue Coming From Vagina After Delivery?
My daughter delivered her first baby a week ago. She is having the normal bleeding and clotting. Today, however, she has had string like tissue coming out of the vagina, and its painful when it comes out. What could it be and should she seek medical attention?
Hello, I have gone through the query and understood your concern. Most often, pieces of membranes remain attached to the uterine wall after delivery and pass along with discharge slowly. This piece of tissue observed is most likely to be such membrane. If there is any associated pain and heavy bleeding, you should take the help of your health care provider immediately to exclude any retained products that need to be managed actively. Else, you can wait and watch. Uterine anti-spasmodics can help alleviate the pain. Please maintain proper genital hygiene and ensure healthy diet. Take care.
