What Causes Stomach Ache With Putty Coloured Stool?

My daughter is nearly 6 and has complained about stomach aches after eating on & off for nearly 6 or so months - it comes and goes. She eats well, loves fruits & vegetables but this evening when she went potty I notice her stool was quite pale in color, very light brown almost putty in color. Do I need to take her to get blood work done to find out what's going on? She is tall and on the skinny side but that is more "normal" given genetics - thoughts.

Thanks for writing to HMC.

Putty colored stool might be due to conditions that interferes with bilirubin metabolism, such as a blockage of the bile ducts or liver disease. Pale stools may also be accompanied by jaundice. In some cases, pale stools may be caused by certain over-the-counter medications or substances used in X-ray procedures, such as barium.

So i suggest you to see the doctor.
Hope i helped you.
