What Causes Stiffness In The Face And Neck With Slurred Speech?
I am a male 59 years old ... For the last 10 months I have experienced difficulty speaking- words sound slurred and my neck and face feel tight. I have had many tests for motor neurone disease , tumour etc. No results have come back negative but my speech is not improving ... Possibilities?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have stiffness in the face and neck with slurred speech. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like bell's palsy , neurological problem , stroke or laryngitis . I would suggest you to consult oral maxillofacial surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxants , anti inflammatory , physical therapy of facial muscle . Doctor may also refer you to speech therapist or ENT specialist for laryngitis , who may prescribe antibiotics like penicillin at least for 5 days . For noa apply warm compresses on face and neck .
