What Causes Stiffness And Pain In Neck?

i woke up 2 days ago with an extremely stiff neck and the pain is constant. It feels worse when I straighten my neck. My neck wants to crane forward. I am 5 weeks 4 days pregnant and wonder if this could be related to hormonal changes as Ive not experienced this before.

Hello,
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM.
Pregnancy is a complex situation with alteration of the hormonal levels and it is normal that you have a tendency to dedicate every symptom to the hormonal changes.
In your case i would suggest you to consult an orthopedic because the stiff neck doesn't have to do with hormonal changes.
Meanwhile, do not take analgesics except of paracetamol because they are not recommended in pregnancy.
Hope this information is somewhat helpful and wish a healthy pregnancy!

Kind regards,
Dr.M.Guni
