What Causes Spotting Despite Switching From Depo To Birth Control Pills?

I m 22 and have been on the depo for over 4 years, last month I switched to the pill instead. I took my last pill of my first pack last night before bed, and when I woke up this morning I had a little blood in my panties but it was kind of thick & brownish. I took a shower then inserted a regular size tampon. 5 hours later when I took it out it wasn t even half way covered with the somewhat thick brownish blood and hurt because it was still dry. What is this? What does this mean?

Hi, it can happen while using the birth control pills. Wait for the normal periods. It may take few days.
