Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
First of all, I want to reassure you that if two months have gone by since you had unprotected sex, and your
pregnancy tests are negative, then you are not pregnant.
Pregnancy symptoms vary widely between women, and many of the signs and symptoms that we common associate with pregnancy like
bloating, breast tenderness, abdominal cramping or swelling, mood changes, and irregular bleeding can all occur from irregular menstrual cycles as well as pregnancy.
Spotting when you're not supposed to have your period can also sometimes happen if you have irritation of your
cervix. Because inflammation of your cervix can because by certain sexually transmitted infections, it would be a good idea for you to visit a GYN doctor or women's healthcare provider to be evaluated and tested for STDs.
However, you can be reassured at this point that pregnancy is not the cause of your symptoms, as enough time has gone by since you had intercourse that if you are pregnant the test would be positive.
I hope that I was able to adequately answer your question today, and that my advice was reassuring.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
