What Causes Spotting And Cramps After Embryo Transfer?

I had an embryo transfer on 10th june (15th day of cycle) On the night of the 18th I started spotting brownish light blood. Only when I wiped. I had on and off mild cramping with this for 3 days then stopped today is 22nd and I woke with constant fairly heavy cramping only to find I started to have a steady flow of pink to brown, enough to wear a tampon. I have regular cycles at 27 /28 days and usually get very heavy periods with cramping. I should mention I was convinced I was pregnant so I took a test this morn to find it negative. My period is due tues. What has happened?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gynecologist and plan for an ultrasound to look for conditions like the pelvic collection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
