What Causes Split In The Center Of Bottom Lips And Chapped Lips?

I have a split in the centre of my bottom lip, I have had it now for 4 weeks. I have had this previously for 18 months and it then cleared up itself. What can I do to stop it now from lasting any longer. I do not have chapped lips, nor wear braces and do not have excess saliva in mouth, my mouth is actually very dry in a morning.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain you have a Chronic Lip Split and having a history of Dry mouth the most probable cause for split lio is due to dryness and inflammation..
Other causes can be iron and Vitamin B12 deficiencies, lip sucking and biting habit, bacterial or funy infection etc..
It seems that you have a Mouth breathing habit and it is the cause for Dry mouth in morning so it will be better to follow a simple trick to prevent mouth breathing.
You can stick a small vertical strip of doctors tape over the closed lips and it will enforce nasal breathing and prevent dryness in mouth..
Apply a thick coat of Petroleum jelly over the lips..
Steroid ointment can be applied..
Cold compresses can help..
Drink plenty of water.
Apply cooled rose water over the lip with a cotton piece..
Exfoliate your lips once a week..
Maintain cleanliness of lips..
