ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome in HCM.

I understand your concern and by your clinical history it appears as you are suffering from acute upper respiratory tract infection involving your laryngopharynx which results in difficulty in swallowing along with soreness in throat. This type of infections are usually viral but some times bacterial also.

To diagnose it you should do these basic investigations.-

1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

2- Gram's staining of throat swab.

With the help of inferences of above investigations one may rule out strep infection and may choose the correct antibiotic if needed.

To get relief you may take -

1- Tab Paracetamol.

2- Anti histaminic.

3- Warm saline gargling.

4- Adequate fluid orally.

I hope you will get relief from above treatment.

Thanks for consulting HCM.
