What Causes Sore Throat Along With Swollen Lymph Nodes?

Hi I have a terrible sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, and a stiff neck. I feel feverish and exhausted but do not have a temperature. I have had a sore throat on and off since mid December and it got really bad in the middle of January but I tested negative for Strep and Mono and took an antibiotic for a sinus infection which made my throat feel better for 3 days afterward but it has been coming and going and it really severe again.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are having intermittent sore throats then it is possible that post nasal drip or reflux maybe contributing to your symptoms though they may not be the sole cause.
Post nasal drip or reflux are possible causes of intermittent pain in the throat.

If either of these are present, then treatment directed at these would be appropriate eg antihistamine/decongestant for the post nasal drip and reflux meds for the reflux.

Strep throat is normally associated with a fever

Anti inflammatory pain medication (naproxen, cataflam or ibuprofen) along with topical medication to the throat may be helpful (chloroseptic or diflam or covonia)

I hope this helps
