What Causes Sharp Pelvic Pain And Pressure?

I removed a tampon yesterday-it was very hard to pull out and hurt. Ever since I have had sharp pelvic pain with some pressure. It is worse when I sit up straight, when I have gas bubbles or if I try to push to use the restroom it is really bad. I have switched to pads ever since. Did I hurt something?

It would be unusual to have an injury to your vagina from removing a tampon that lasts more than a few days. You certainly can get scraped or chafed inside from a dry tampon, or occasionally some tampon fibers may remain inside. Using a pad until your period finishes is the right idea and if the pain persists beyond a few days, or you develop pain with urination, foul discharge or a fever, you should see your gynecologist.
