What Causes Severe Thigh Pain?

A child I know, 7 years of age, has an extremely large umbilical hernia (about the size of a tennis ball). He has now been hospitalised with chronic pain in his left thigh. Could there be any connection between the umbilical hernia and severe thigh pain?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The thigh pain is not related to an umbilical hernia. The pain in thigh can be a muscular pain that usually improves after rest, mild pin killer and a hot compress in the area.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Praveen Tayal,
