What Causes Severe Sore Throat?

I previously paid and submitted a question. I've not received an answer. I paid th $9.95. The question is - my mother thought she was using listerine and it was lysol multi-cleaner. I'm giving her milk and cooking oil to coat her throat. Last night I took her to the clinic because I thought she had a severe sore throat. She I contiue giving her the z-pack?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Lysol might have eroded the mucosa in her mouth and pharynx .
gels containing lignocaine and metronidazole should be used .
lignocaine relived her pain and metronidazole prevents from any further expected bacterial infection .
milk can be protective only to some extent .
z pack course is 3 days for mild and 5 days for severe infections
