What Causes Severe Sleepiness And Tiredness?

Every afternoon, at about 2pm, I feel very sleepy. My overnight sleep habits haven't changed recently (I get about 7 hours per night) nor has my lunch time routine and menu changed.
Can tiredness like this be related to an underlying condition?

Hello,

There are multiple causes for day time sleepiness. Most common having poor night time sleep. But in your case as you have mentioned you are having adequate sleep at night. So it can be due to other reasons like excessive work, mental fatigue, tiredness or medicines.

You have not mentioned if you are on any medicines? It can also due to thyroid disturbances. Your history is incomplete and more details are required however, if it is not troubling you then you can wait and watch. If it is disturbing your routine, I suggest you to consult physician and find out the cause behind this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prashant Gohil
