What Causes Severe Pain In Shin Along With Numbness In Upper Thigh?

I had back surgery in Jan for stenosis. L4-5. Was having severe pain in left outer shin. After surgery for bone graft to L4-5 I now have weakness in right leg. No feeling in knee. Numbness in upper inner thigh, and inner lower leg, but also spasms from groin to knee which are very painful, I must physically lift my rt leg into car. Also, if this is being caused by pinching nerves, is it dangerous to not have it repaired immediately? Can it cause permanent damage to nerves?
