What Causes Severe Pain And Numbness In The Tongue?
Often I experience a volt of pain to my tongue what causes great pain and the spot on the tongue where I got the volt, become numb. The pain and numbness goes away after about 10 minutes. The pain hurts very much. Most of the time the volt come at night while I am resting.

I can understand your concern. Do you have an ulcer or some lesion on the tongue where the pain shoots? If that is the case, then ulcer or lesion might be pressing on the nerve supplying the tongue causing the pain. IOn that case, when the ulcer will heal, the pain will go away. You can apply local Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) to the ulcer for the relief.
If no such ulcer or lesion is present, then this type of pain indicates pathology or disorder associated with the nerve supplying the tongue. It might be possible that some lesion is present inside the tongue or from where the nerve originates or along the path of the nerve which is pressing then nerve and causing the pain.
In such case, you should visit a neurosurgeon for the examination of the tongue and further investigations like MRI to diagnose the pathology associated with the situation.
