What Causes Severe Pain In Lower Abdomen?

hi, i'm a 21 year old female and i've been feeling a lot of discomfort in my lower abdomen and kidney area for the last 48 hours, i havn't had trouble going to the toilet, however i have recently had cystitis (they seem to have overlapped). would you recommend going to a 'walk in center' or waiting longer for the pain to pass. It seems to be worse at night and it is quite severe.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
There is a history of cystitis and you have got a pain in the lower abdomen.
Yes, you have to go to the walk-in-center and get investigated for :
Blood, urine and stool;
Ultrasonography of the abdomen.
Culture and sensitivity of the urine before the start of the antibiotics.

Once the diagnosis is made as to confirm relation to cystitis or urinary tract infection with affection of the kidneys too, the treatment can be planned the best.

Till then take plenty of water orally to keep the urinary system flushed.
You can take an analgesic or anti-spasmodic tablet if you have one at home.
Do not wait longer at all.
