Hi,

As you mentioned you have endometriosis. Menstrual cramp is common and usually relieved by pain medications. However when you have endometriosis the pain can be very severe that usually wont go away with medication. It can also be accompanied by other symptoms such as backache, leg pain, diarrhea, fatigue, nausea and heavy periods.

You may have to see your doctor because usually, contraceptive implants stop working after three years. This may explain having your period with the accompanying pain.

For the meantime you may take over the counter NSAID, such as Mefenamic acid as needed for pain, as long as you are not allergic to NSAIDS, aspirin or no history urticarial or history of chronic GI inflammation or ulcer.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manuel C See IV, Urologist
