What Causes Severe Pain During Menstruation?

Hi Doctor, I get severe pain during my period. I got my first period at the age of 12 years and immediately after a couple of months pain started. Since then I ve been regularly taking Dysmen tab on the first day of my period. But for last 3 years or so I ve switched on to Maftal Spas. I ve been married for over 5 years now and trying hard to conceive for last 4-5 months. My biggest concern is will taking medicines during my period be a problem for conceiving.

Hi,
No. Taking medication for pain during periods or 'dysmenorrhea' does not lead to problems in conception. If there is established ovulation and if there is no pelvic inflammation and the tubes are patent, natural pregnancy is possible. In fact, it has often been shown that dysmenorrhea is miraculously relieved after a pregnancy. Please go ahead with your trials and get help if you do not see any result after sincerely trying for a year. Hope your query has been clarified. Wish you good health.
