What Causes Severe Itching On The Legs?

I have server itchy skin when I get in water, mainly my legs. No hives, no changes in my skin appearance at all just extreme itching. I am also very tired, memory loss, and my hip joints hurt. every once in a while I get light headed and my heart races. I had a Dr tell me to use better lotion and it has not helped. What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
This can be really uncomfortable at times. Since how long is this going on?
It is often related to dermatologic conditions or allergies.
Sometimes, in rare cases, it has to do with systemic diseases.
What I would suggest you along with the lotion you are already using, is to keep the skin hydrated, avoid long baths and with very hot water.
If you find no relief I suggest you to see a dermatologist.
Hope my answer was helpful
