What Causes Severe Itching On Tailbone?
The tailbone area of by buttocks has been very itchy as of late. Recently I ve been diagnosed with vitiligo, and I ve been told that there s an increased risk for skin cancer (notably for those that undergo certain treatments, like depigmenting the entire skin). Whenever I do succumb to the itch, I m unsure if I m feeling my tailbone or some new lump that may have formed. I know someone in my situation would understandably grow paranoid, but I m just wondering if this tailbone itch can be a sign of cancer. Most likely, from what I ve read, it can be something of an allergic reaction or fungal infection, but it wouldn t hurt to be sure.

most common cause of itching at tail bone is LSC.
Lichen simplex chronicus (also known as "Neurodermatitis") is a skin disorder characterized by chronic itching and scratching. The constant scratching causes thick, leathery, brownish skin.
Treatment is aimed at reducing itching and minimizing existing lesions because rubbing and scratching cause lichen simplex chronicus. The itching and inflammation may be treated with a lotion or steroid cream (such as Betamethasone) applied to the affected area of the skin.
in vitiligo there is both increase and decrease risk of malignancy.
1.Decreased risk of melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer in patients with vitiligo
2.Squamous Cell Carcinoma is some time seen in Vitiligo but it is rare.
