What Causes Severe Itching And Heartburn After Discontinuing Vitamin D Supplements?
Hello, I m 56 yo male and have been having extreme itching all over body for the past 12 days, then bloating of stomach for the past 10 days. I could eat breakfast ok, then lunch, then bloating would start about 3-4 pm. I seemed to be getting better, but now getting worse. This morning after breakfast bloating set in afterwards. My urine is also darker than normal. Note, that I have my gallbladder removed about 20 months ago. I do have HBP and taking two pills (25 mg of losartin and 25 mg of chlorthalidone). I had a basic annual visit with my PCP about 2 months ago and found my Vita D level low, and recommended I take a D3 supplement. I stopped those 6 days ago, thinking this might be the cause of my severe itching. I also had started taking a half of a multivitamin and have stopped that also. Somethings it seems like I have heartburn and last night I had just gone to bed and burped up stomach stuff into my mouth somewhat. I m going concerned.

This looks that you have gastritis. Initially, we treat it with acid suppression drugs like Omeprazole once a day with some antacids for 14 days. I would also advise avoiding spicy foods.
This would help you most of the times. However if it dint heal then you should seek help from your doctor for further testing.

It seems like you have developed an obstruction of your biliary system though your gallbladder is removed. It might be a stone in your common bile duct, because the bloating and dark urine are indicative of an obstruction of CBD. Consult a general surgeon and if possible go for an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound.
