Hello,
I would be able to comment better if you can furnish me some more information like your past menstrual history, whether this was a delayed period, if you are trying to conceive or have a chance to conceive, if you are on any other medication or have any generalized infection and any drugs. Infections of the pelvis and general body, polyps of the cervix and uterus, erosion of the cervix, fibroids of the uterus and ovarian cysts can lead to bleeding disturbances. A clinical exam by a specialist followed by a sonogram of the pelvis will help to clarify the situation and plan further management. Hope this helps.
