What Causes Severe Hair Loss While On Levothyroxine?

I had my thyroid removed due to cancer (I had a dose of radioactive iodine in the form of a pill) and am on levothyroxine. Recently I have noticed that I have a lot more hair falling out than seems normal. Can this be from the lack of thyroid or the levothyroxine?

Hi,

You are already receiving Levothyroxine, which is basically thyroid hormones. You should get your thyroid levels checked though. Maybe the thyroid hormones produced in your body is not sufficient enough and causing problems.
