What Causes Severe Bleeding During Periods And Receiving Nexoplanon Implant In The Arms?

My daughter received the nexplanon inplant in her arm today. She has had issues with very severe bleeding with her period and has previously taken Aviane only to have limited relief from her issues. Since she may end up bleeding even heavier while she adjusts to the nexplanon, I m wondering if it would be safe for her to occasionally take Aviane to help control the bleeding (basically only if absolutely necessary). She has had bleeding in the past that was so severe she was hospitalized and even now she is somewhat anemic.

Hello,

It is not recommended to take Avaine while on Nexplanon implant. Her bleeding will regularize and reduce in a few months while on nexplanon.
If bleeding is too much, please follow up with her ObGyn.

Hope this answers your question
Please let me know if you need further clarification
