General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about removal of only one tonsil for enlargement and then development of scarring, now the Doctor advised for removal of the other tonsil and uvula.
Not as such, the Surgeon must have thought of something before making a decision of removal of only one tonsil or most probably might have thought of lymphoma or cancer.
Since there is scarring and you have problems, it is best to go for removal of another tonsil which in itself may be sufficient to relieve your symptoms and uvula may be spared.
But surely the decision of your new Doctor has to be followed strictly.
Also ask for the report of the tonsil removed.
Go for proper tests of blood and go for fitness for surgery and anesthesia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
