What Causes Scalp Folliculitis?

Good day. I m 25 and have been diagnosed with chronic scalp folliculitis recently. Have had bumps on my scalp since january 2016 and it was in an alright level at first. 1-2 small bumps. But with time it went worse. Gave a bacterial test from bump and the result is staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. My dermatologist wrote me unidox salutab which I tried for one month alongside with flucanazole. Scalp was 100% clean from second day. After just 7-10 days of treatment folliculitis came back...and stronger. I realized before the antibiotics I have had a way better scalp. Now driniking strongus(capsules), immunitex. Using 2% ketoconazole shampoo every other day. Having up to 7-9 spots on back of scalp currently. Few days ago have been to infectionist who asked for blood tests. He said blood cleansing should help. Does it makes sense? What would you suggest? Have been to 5-6 dermatologists already and no luck. Is there permanent cure? Thank you very much.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

You have to start on intravenous antibiotics. Consult a dermatologist and start stronger antibiotics. Make sure that your blood sugar level is within normal limits as uncontrolled diabetes leads to recurrent attacks of folliculitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
