What Causes Roughness/bumps On Skin On Labia?

The skin on my labia is rough and shows small, close together light bumps. The bumpy area goes from just outside of my inner vaginal lips to a bit inside of my vagina. It s been this way for a few years, starting as only a small string of little dots on the labia. It started at a time when I was not sexually active, nor had I been yet. It itches often and I have thick, white, sometimes smelly discharge. I m worried that I may have something.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be candidal vulvovaginitis. Consult the dermatologist or gynaecologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would recommend you to take an anticandidal drug like cap itraconazole with antibiotic under the guidance of your doctor. If there is itching, take cetirizine. Apply antifungal cream like candid cream. Avoid soap bath. Take Sitz bath in Dettol mixed water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
