What Causes Retropharyngeal Lymph Nodes?

I'm worried about a lymph node. It is my left, retropharyngeal lymph. It is fairly hard, very slightly tender, and somewhat mobile. It becomes fairly prominent when I tilt my head away. I've noticed it for a while now, a few weeks. Should I get it looked at?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your cervical lympadenopathy.

Cervical lympadenopathy is mostly because of the infection on the same side. You must check the any left side dental infection, tongue lesion, left ear pain or any other lesion on left side face or scalp.

As you said it is tender in touch and mobile in character that means you have an infective one. Dangerous lympadenopathy is hard in consistency, immobile and painless non tender usually.

Lympadenopathy is not a good thing you must visit a doctor in case you don't have any upper mentioned infection related problems.

Hope my answer will help you and also write to Healthcaremagic in case any further opinions are required.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
