Hematologist 's  Response
Hi,
Anemia can be secondary to kidney problem, as an essential hormone for RBC production, which is called as erythropoietin, is produced in kidneys. Please consult a nephrologist. If kidney function is really reduced, for treatment of anemia you would need erythropoietin injections along with hematinics.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
With regards,
Dr. Girish Kamat
