Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi,

The problem your child is having is called Conjunctivitis (Pink eye). It is the most common cause of redness in eye. However other causes can be Subconjunctival hemorrhage (broken blood vessel on the sclera) or Blepharitis (inflamed eyelids).

I would suggest you to take eye drop Moxifloxacin 2 drops thrice daily, eye drop Flur (Flurbiprofen) 2 drops thrice daily. Along with it antibiotic Cefixiome 100 mg twice daily and antihistaminic like Allegra (Fexofenadine) 120mg should be taken for 3 days. If not relieved after 3 days then consult an opthalmologist. If possible try to upload a picture of his eye.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar
