Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic
After going through your query, I would like to keep a possibility of Vasculitis/
Small vessel vasculitis.
It presents as purpuric patches, most commonly on the lower legs of affected individuals. The patches may be associated with burning sensation, pain,
pedal edema etc. Patches resolve with bruise like changes over a few days.
Vasculitis can be primary, where there is no underlying cause e.g Henoch Schoeinlein purpura is the most common form of small vessel vasculitis in childhood. Secondary vascultis has an underlying cause such as infection, drugs,
connective tissue disorder e,g SLE,
Rheumatoid arthritis etc.
I would suggest for her a short course of an oral steroids along with oral antihistamines e.g cetrizine.
She should be thoroughly investigated for an underlying cause, if any.
Routine lab tests like complete hemogram, Liver function tests, Kidney function test, stool guaiac etc are part of normal protocol for incestigation of a case of small vessel vasculitis.
Specific tests include
skin biopsy and Immunoflorescence Microscopy to look for immune deposits
