What Causes Recurring Eye Infection When Suffering From Diabetes?

Hi, I am 35yr old man. Type 2 diabetic with high cholesterol and high BP. Contolling diabetes with metformin + diet + excercise. My blood sugar levels have been very good for the last 3 years (since I was diagnosed) at 5.7. My tryglercides are high but have been gradually comng down as I continue to loose weight and diet continious to improve. I need advise on my eyes. I have never had any eye problems but over the last 1 month I have developed 2 eye infections leading to boils filled with pus. The first was my right eye and after taking a 1 week course of Flucloxacillin it cleared. One week later I developed the same issue on my other eye and an now on another course of Flucloxacillin . I have very good hygiene, I wear glasses (no contact lenses) and have never had any eye problems previously. My docotor says there is no explaination but it may be to do with me being diabetic. any advice ? I currently take medication wise perindopril, metformin, asprin plus vitamins & fish oils.
