What Causes Recurrent Bradycardia Despite Taking Amlodipine?
My husband, a very active 93, recently started intermittent bradycardia - 38 -42bpm. Usually has a 73 +/,He s on amlodipin 2.5 mg twice a day for high blood pressure. He has 1 heart stent and several other narrowed arteries in his heart. He s also on a blood thinner because of the stent ( Plavix) His color is good, no shortness of breath, no light headedness. He can cough and get his blood pressure back up. But later will drop again. How serious is this.

But, I would recommend performing a cardiac ultrasound and an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring in order to examine better his heart structure and exclude possible heart failure or cardiac arrhythmia. It is also important performing a chest X ray study and NT pro BNP levels. You should discuss with his doctor on the above tests.
